Let's Ring in 2012

Hello family and friends!!

We wanted to give an update even though not too much to report!! The holidays were fantastic!! Paxton caught on pretty quick to the whole concept...so fun to watch. However, our house is covered with all his new toys. Paxton is very grateful and so are we. It's just a blessing to watch him smile and learn everyday!! He's learning new words every day. Some of his favorite words include: "uh-oh", "mommy", "daddy", "puppy", "Harlee". He loves his Harlee. In fact, they are napping together as we speak (write :) ). We are hopefully looking forward to some travel this year. Right now, we are looking forward to some play in the snow within the next week or two. In May, we are traveling to Seattle for a wedding and time with Mike's family. We haven't been back to Washington for a while so we are really looking forward to it! If all goes well maybe Hawaii this summer and a California Adventure later in the year...Sounds jammed pack but we're trying to set some goals ahead of time.

Mike and I are still very busy with work...But, luckily we now have our weekends off together.  And no more night shift for me!!  YAY!

As always we try to live a healthy lifestyle.  We bought a new trailer for my bike and Paxton absolutely loves our bike rides.  I can't say that Paxton's taste buds are staying as healthy as we'd like but he still has a great appetite!  Mac N Cheese, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, peanut butter and jelly,  and yogurt are some of his staples.  Pretty typical 18 month old diet!!

Our backyard has turned into a little playland.  Thank you to our wonderful family for helping to fill the yard with fabulous toys for him! Paxton absolutely LOVES the outdoors.  And even that, is an understatement!  I think our child would sleep outside if we let him.

On Halloween we met our neighbors.  They are all great!  It is even more awesome that they all have small children who Paxton's loves to spend the afternoons playing with outside!!!

That's all for now!!  Hoping to update with each of our travels...

Love to all!!

Where have we been and What have we been up to?

It has been quite some time since we have updated our blog and believe it is time to do so...I have included some recent holiday photos to sort catch up over the past few months.  Now that I have some time in the evenings I'm going to make it a goal to stay a little more caught up.  We have BUSY, BUSY, BUSY over the past few months and that is just an understatement!!  Paxton keeps us moving regularly...and with his everyday new "skills", i.e, climbing the stairs, digging through cabinets and chasing the dog, there is never a dull moment.  When we aren't at home playing with him we are both at work leading very busy work schedules.  Fortunately, I was just able to change my schedule to allow more time for Mike and Pax on the weekends.

Some of Paxton's firsts:
  • climbing
  • standing
  • eating solids (loves bananas, cheerios, mashed potatoes)
  • swimming lessons and pool time (LOVES IT)
  • First words (mama, dada, nana, uh oh)
What's new with us??

We are looking hopefully to close on a new home in Chandler this month and are just keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out for the best.  It is an amazing home with everything we would've hoped for. If all goes well, photos will go up shortly!

We are also eagerly awaiting for the summer. And no, not for the heat!!!

Paxton's 1st birthday is just around the corner and we can't wait to celebrate!  We will also be celebrating our 2nd anniversary over the wonderful 4th of July holiday weekend...and if all goes well, a house warming party!  We also hope to escape to some cooler weather for some short over nighters for some fun and a rest from all the other craziness surrounding our lives right now.  We can't wait to see Alex, Jan, and Scott...it will be a jam packed summer and I'm ready for it!

Like I said, I really hope to keep in touch regularly so please check back soon!

Love from all of us,

TEAM ALEXANDER (Michael, Andrea, and Pax)

Paxton: Week 4-Week 8..Enjoy!

August Update

Well it's been just about a month and boy has Paxton just grown right before our eyes!! We are growing more and more in love with him every day. Some of his lastest changes are his big, bright, beautiful smiles and just recently his giggles. I have taken some time over the last few weeks to be sure to capture some of these moments on video. Be sure to check out the videos!! We will have the official results of his height and weight next week so I'll have an additional small post next week (August 18th)...Also, please say your prayers for me...I am dreading the appointment because he will be getting his first shots :( I'm sure he'll be fine after all is said and done...but my heart is already breaking at the thought of it.

Coming up: I head back to work at the end of the month :( ... I am going to miss the time at home with him sooo much. But, I have to tell myself that in some ways it will be good for me (otherwise I won't go). We are taking a visit to San Diego in a week to escape the heat and spend some time outdoors as a family before I return back to work...Paxton may finally enjoy his stoller without sweating. Then, Uncle Scotty returns for a visit. Always a good time!! Lastly, we have narrowed our search and found a diamond in the rough. What I mean by that is, we found a daycare provider for Paxton (one day per week), less than 1/4 mile away from home. She is an in home provider which excites us and shares many of our same values. We will keep you posted as to how he does.
Well, that's quite a long update :) We'll write again soon!! Videos will be up shortly...Love to all..

Love,
Team Alexander
